The draw comprised 19 players with visitors from Aiken, Washington, Boston, Charleston and the University of Georgia joining the local contingent vying for the title. The matches began on Thursday with many Chicago players winning through to the quarter finals. By an interested observer The Etchebaster trophy was keenly contested at the Racquet Club of Chicago from January 21st – 23rd 2022. Although it was very cold over the weekend, we had 7 players coming in from New York, Boston, Detroit, Philadelphia and California. by James Zug In mid-December 2021, the Racquet & Tennis Club hosted the twentieth-fourth annual United States Court Tennis Association dinner and auction during the traditional Whitney Cup weekend. As well as some outstanding tennis, members, players, and guests were treated to a dinner on Saturday night and Sunday brunch. In singles semifinal play the number 1 seed Rakesh Jasani defeated Chip Marvin and in three exciting sets, Vaughn Massie prevailed over Geoff Ellis. There was great excitement and buzz around the club, with 20 players from Boston coming. We also had players from Washington, Aiken, Manchester, New York, and Chicago.
