In early April, New York hosted another National League Super Event—the fourth edition. This year’s competition brought together four teams of four players each. Across three evenings, fans enjoyed twelve exciting matches, along with a well-attended Pro-Am and two educational seminars presented by the Preservation Foundation.

The tournament drew nearly every U.S.-based professional, in addition to three of the nation’s leading amateurs. The depth of talent on display was exceptional, featuring top competitors from both the professional and amateur ranks. Teams were formed through a draft held during the U.S. Open, led by captains John Lumley, Steve Virgona, Nick Howell, and Camden Riviere.

A defining element of this updated format was the randomized partnerships each night. In many instances, players were teaming up—or facing off—for the first time, bringing an added layer of unpredictability. The matches were fiercely contested, with several teams gaining early advantages and holding firm, while the overall result ultimately hinged on a dramatic one-game playoff.

The USCTA also hosted a highly popular skills shootout, claimed by Team Winning Gallery. Spectators were treated to an impressive showcase of ability and enjoyed the strong sense of camaraderie among players, who also reflected on some of the challenges they’ve encountered.

Live coverage of the event was provided by Racquet and Tennis Operations Manager Jonathan Terradista, with insightful commentary from players and guest contributors. Recordings of each day’s play are available below:

In the end, Team Winning Gallery, captained by John Lumley, edged out Team Dedans in a sudden-death tiebreaker to claim the title. Congratulations to John, James Stout, Barney Tanfield, and Henry Smith on capturing the 2026 championship.

This event’s success was made possible through the support of numerous partners and patron groups. We extend sincere thanks to the Racquet and Tennis Club, its members, and staff for their outstanding role in delivering a seamless event. The continued backing of the USCTA, along with its collaboration with professional players, reinforces the National League’s distinctive standing worldwide. We are also grateful to the National Fund contributors for their ongoing generosity in enhancing prize purses, and to the Preservation Foundation for its consistent sponsorship and support of professional play.

Special recognition goes to Tournament Chairman Ted Goneos for his tireless efforts to elevate the experience for both players and fans. Finally, we thank the patrons—both from the host club and beyond—whose support makes this event so appealing to participants. We look forward to welcoming everyone back next year.
