The Jimmy Knott Memorial Singles saw a great turnout this year. With 6 clubs represented, the tournament started on Thursday October 12th and finished on Sunday October 15th and 4 divisions were held, the Open, 35+, 45+ and 55+ handicap divisions.

The 55+ Division saw last year’s defending champion get knocked out early by Max White, who ended up winning the division over Holly Meers 5/6 6/4 6/3.

The 45+ Division final saw Chris Tomasevich and Connor Richmond face off once again. Richmond had the opportunity to take the championship with a match point, however, Tomasevich had other ideas. Tomasevich went on to win the title 4/6 6/4 6/5.

In the 35+ Division final we saw up-and-comer, John Eder, take down Westwood’s Vern Peterson-Cassin. John has been rising through the ranks, winning the Wharton Cup (50+ handicap) just last season. John’s return of serve was too much for Peterson-Cassin to handle in the end, Eder won 6/4 2/6 6/4.

In Open Division final we saw Ned Batstone, who just scraped through the semi-finals against Andrew Peabody, play Alex Spence. The match had a lot of target hitting, but Ned’s volley return of serve proved too good and Batstone took the match 6/1 6/3
