Families from three US clubs made the trip to Chicago; guests from New York, Tuxedo Park, and Westwood Country Club joined the Chicago members vying for the titles. The round of thirty-two kicked off on Friday afternoon with both East and West courts hosting some entertaining competition. The tournament was comprised of six teams, (Greentree, New England, Tuxedo-Aiken-Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, and Washington), and was, as usual, well-attended and extremely competitive. Play began Friday morning with Greentree combatting Tuxedo-Aiken-Chicago and New York taking on Philadelphia. by Rob Whitehouse The 41st annual Jimmy Dunn saw its biggest turnout in history, with 186 entrants competing in Court Tennis, Singles Squash, Doubles Squash & Racquets! Two hundred forty-four matches were played in four days at the Racquet Club. We had players attend from all over the country and a few from across the pond. The tennis had fifty-six teams entered with seven different divisions. The atmosphere was incredible, with matches scheduled literary all day long, and the competition was very even in all divisions. This year’s field included 31 players with representation from the USA, England, and France. The Open Division was highly contested with Whitey Cup selection on the line.
