The Racquet Club Of Philadelphia hosted the 2025 U.S. Amateur Singles and Doubles. We had an outstanding turnout this year with 16 players in the singles draw and nine teams competing in doubles.

Singles Recap:
All seeds advanced comfortably through the first round, with no major upsets. One of the highlights was a Friday night thriller between Jeremy Wintersteen and Chase Motz, where Motz came back from 2–5 down to win 6-5 in a match that wrapped up at 11:30pm.

Henry Smith delivered a strong 6-2, 6-2 win over Jon Crowell, showcasing solid court tennis. In the semifinals, Freddie Bristowe faced Smith in a tightly contested match. Smith rallied from 0–4 down to win the first set 6-5, but Bristowe found his rhythm, taking the next two sets 6-0, 6-2 to reach the final.

On the other side of the draw, Ben Hudson defeated Noah Motz in a gritty three-set match. Hudson claimed the first set 6-3, Motz answered with a 6-5 second set, but Hudson regrouped to win the decider 6-4 and book his spot in the final.

In the championship match, Bristowe came out firing, dominating the court and hitting clean targets. Despite Hudson’s efforts to change the rhythm, Bristowe was in top form, closing out the final 6-2, 6-1, 6-1 to claim his first US Amateur title.

Doubles Recap:
Shep Skiff and Saby Bose had a strong opening performance against Eric Haab and William Spruance, winning 6-2, 1-6, 6-0. Crowell and Wintersteen also looked sharp, defeating Hursel and Chase Motz 6-4, 6-3.

In the semifinals, Bristowe and Smith proved too strong for Hudson and Sloan, advancing 6-2, 6-1. Winthrop and Motz battled back from a set down against Crowell and Wintersteen to win 3-6, 6-1, 6-1.

The final featured the top two seeds—Winthrop-Motz vs. Bristowe-Smith—and lived up to the billing. Winthrop and Motz edged a tense first set 6-5, but Bristowe and Smith responded with a 6-3 second set. Winthrop and Motz bounced back to take the third 6-4. In a tight fourth set, Bristowe and Smith forced a decider with a clutch 6-5 win. The final set saw high-level play from both sides, but Bristowe and Smith held strong to win 6-4 and clinch the doubles title.
