The Burke Cup 2025 brought together players from near and far at the Tennis & Racquet Club in Boston for a fun and competitive weekend. Half the draw traveled from other clubs, so the tournament had a great mix of locals and visitors.

One of the standout stories was newcomer Mike O’Connor, who only started playing three months ago. Mike impressed everyone by making it to the semi-finals in his first-ever tournament, even managing to upset the number two seed in the quarterfinals. His run ended in the semis against Chris Tomasevich, who came back from 5-0 down in the second set to win
6-0 6-5.

Defending champion Brad Ursprung also faced challenges on his way to the final, needing three sets to get through the two previous rounds. Despite the tough road, Brad held strong and successfully defended his title, winning the Burke Cup for the second year.

In the back draw, Chase Richter bounced back after a close first-round loss, where he narrowly lost 6-5 in the third set. He played solidly throughout the back draw, eventually taking the win over Dick Tanfield in the final. The tournament wrapped up with Jimmy Burke presenting the trophies.
