Over the weekend the T&R hosted the US 40s. This is a National Championship with the highly coveted USCTA gold and silver medals on the line.

The quality of play was extremely high all weekend which was further highlighted in two fantastic finals on Sunday. First up was the doubles featuring Todd Meringoff and Alex Spence against Todd Martin and Jeremy Wintersteen.

The ball striking was exceptional with each player bringing their own flavor to the match. Alex Spence and Todd Meringoff came out on top 6/2 6/2, although this scoreline doesn’t reflect the plethora of extended rallies quality on both sides of the net.

The singles final was equally entertaining. Todd Meringoff got out to an early lead only to be tracked down by Alex. The difference on this day was Todd taking his chances when the ball was floated through the middle of the court, clinically putting away his volleys and maintaining sustained pressure on Alex. Todd took the match 6/4 6/1.

Thanks to everyone who came out to take part and also the spectators for taking the time to come and check out the action.
