Following the Junior Academy at the end of July, Westwood hosted the USCTA U11s, U13s, and U15s.
In the U11s, Magnus Mitby (Haven Pell’s grandson) won the final 8-0 against Liliana Ronaldson. With a handicap of 65 and only ten years old, Magnus is almost certainly the World #1 in his age group.
The U13s and U15s were dominated by Kurt Mueller from Tuxedo. Kurt almost stumbled against Jack Morrison in the U15 semi-final, winning an 8-7, 40 all-match point nail-biter. The U13 and U15 finals ended up 8-2 in Mueller’s favor over Mina Mitby. All the kids displayed fantastic sportsmanship, and it was great to see them regularly cutting the ball into the corners.
