A small but enthusiastic group of Junior played in the 2024 Junior Handicap Singles at the Tuxedo Club on January 13th & 14th.
Hazel Christensen, Johnny Dawson, Walt Laukitis, Kurt Mueller & Calliope Yannuzzi participated in a round-robin where all the juniors played four matches, with Johnny Dawson & Kurt Mueller earning the right to play each other in the Final.
Based on the results of the round-robin, Kurt was the favorite heading into the final, even with a slight handicap adjustment based upon Kurt going undefeated in the round-robin portion of the event. Kurt played an almost flawless final, and no matter what Johnny threw at him, he responded and earned a well-deserved title as the 2024 Junior Handicap Champion.
