The inaugural AB Martin Cup was held in Tuxedo. The tournament is a team doubles competition, similar to the Whitney Cup, for seniors. Team New England beat New York 2/1. Members of the winning New England team included Alex Walsh, Jonathan Pardee, David Boenning, Tom Rowe, Dick Brickley and Nicholas Stogdon. Results Walsh/Pardee (NE) def. The US Parent Child Doubles was played in Tuxedo on June 16 & 17. Christian & Nick Sonne beat Howard & Gordon McMorris in the finals of the Open Division. David & David Ford defeated Bob & Cameron Buettner in the finals of the handicap division. The draws are attached.

The 2012 US Professional Singles playing for the Schochet Cup is now in the record books. After nine days of exciting matches, Camden Riviere took top honors, defeating Bryn Sayers in a four set final – 6/1, 5/6, 6/2, 6/3. Riviere got off to a fast start in the first set, dominating the service end and generally not allowing Sayers to find his game. Serving tight railroads, Riviere controlled the set from the service end. Taking control of the set and advantage of Sayers’ loose balls, Riviere took the first set 6/1. The court restoration is moving along very well at the Racquet Club of Chicago. Under the direction of Bill Bickford with help from John Cashman and Ally Bulley and other RCOC members, work has gone well all spring. Chris Ronaldson, Colin Lumley and Peter Lucke-Hille have been providing expert advice on the proper detailing of such elements as bandeau height, tambour angle and gallery and dedans openings. The Middlesex University court in London has been used as a model. On Tuesday May 22 there was a lunch/exhibition at Prince’s Court in honor of Diana and Fred Prince, benefactors of Prince’s Court. Haven Pell and Temple Grassi, old friends and tennis colleagues of Fred’s were there to represent the early days of Prince’s Court. Playing in the exhibition and representing the present days were Rich Moroscak, Ryan Carey, John Motz , and Kris Motz.
