Started in 2001, it’s the can’t miss event in Philadelphia – and this, its 24th year, was no exception.  For those who are new to the game, the Percy Cup was initially started as an equivalent to the Whitney Cup for higher handicap participants. In a Davis Cup style format, teams of 3 doubles squads compete together to move throughout the tournament with aggregate win-loss records. by John Lumley The 2024 US Open saw a record turnout for the Ladies’ division, with 24 entrants—the highest in recent years—highlighting the growing strength and depth of the women’s game. Claire Fahey and Jo See Tan faced the Philadelphia duo of Victoria Scott and Alexis Dorr. Fahey and Tan’s consistent railroads kept their opponents under pressure, forcing scooped returns down the center of the court. The 2025 U.S. 60s and 70s National Championships took place at Aiken Tennis Club from March 7-9, bringing together top senior real tennis players from across the country. With standout performances, major upsets, and a thrilling final, this year’s event delivered on every level. Half the draw traveled from other clubs, so the tournament had a great mix of locals and visitors. One of the standout stories was newcomer Mike O’Connor, who only started playing three months ago. Beginning January 24th, the National Tennis Club hosted twelve players from clubs around the country. Forty-nine matches were played across the holiday weekend, with 11 Juniors playing in the singles and 15 teams in the Family Doubles.
