As always, a lot of great tennis was played by all, with teams coming in from Boston, Newport, Tuxedo and Philadelphia. Date: 24 April, 2012 Location: RCOP, Philadelphia PA Event: 2012 Collegiate Challenge Match Format: Georgian Court University Women’s Team vs. RCOP Women’s Team On April 24th, 2012 five brave undergraduate women from Georgian Court University – women that have participated all year long in our inaugural GCU Intramural Court Tennis Club Clinics run by omnipresent Neil Smith – these five women came to Philadelphia for a challenge match with the RCOP women. A glorious late-spring weekend brought a fascinating and welcomed visit to the historic halls of the Georgian Court Casino as Bardyl Tirana, a close friend of Kingdon Gould, Jr., the nephew of Jay Gould, joined our ranks to compete for the coveted 2010 Jay Gould Cup. With well wishes to all, Bardyl relayed that Kingdon is thrilled that the court is in fine condition, and the game his uncle championed so many years ago continues to develop at his family’s ancestral home.
