On August 1st, Sand Valley hosted a fun day filled with tennis, golf, and good times. The day began with groups heading out to the golf courses before making their way back to the tennis center for games of lawn and court tennis. Prior to the exhibition match, Steve Virgona and Ben Taylor-Matthews offered a free clinic for juniors that were eager to learn the game. An amazing opportunity for them to learn from a couple of the best players in the world.
The main event for the evening began at 4pm with the exhibition match. As the start of the match approached, it was wonderful to see how many people came to support the pros. Members of Chicago, locals of the Town of Rome, resort guests, and even some employees of Sand Valley showed up to watch. The match was highly contested and back-and-forth all the way to the end. Eventually, Ben Taylor-Matthews came out victorious with a tight 10-9 win over Steve Virgona.
A big thanks to Steve and Ben for playing a great match and making for a fun evening. Sand Valley also appreciates everyone that showed up to watch and support the players. This made for a special evening on the court.
