The Jimmy Knott Memorial Singles, held annually for A-level Court Tennis players, featured competitive singles matches. In the final, Ben Hudson won over Todd Meringoff in a close three-set match, which displayed impressive skill from both players.
Making its first appearance since 2019, the Sears Cup added to the weekend’s excitement as a multi-sport event bringing together Court Tennis, Racquets, and Squash. Tyler Sloan and John Eder took the title with a strong team performance in the Court Tennis A Division, while Alex Weir and Tommy Reid claimed victory in the B Division. In the C Division, newcomer Mattia Landoni teamed up with John Lanza to secure the win in his first tournament.
The tournament provided plenty of court action, with over 70 hours of play across four days. Players and spectators enjoyed a lively season-opening party with a jazz band, adding to the weekend’s positive energy. The Sears Cup’s revival created exciting competition and reinforced the club’s community atmosphere.
Congratulations to all the winners and competitors who made this weekend a success. The Jimmy Knott Memorial Singles and the Sears Cup set a strong start for the season, and we look forward to the events to come!
