The Racquet Club was proud to host the 2nd Annual Chicago Invitational from October 1st -5th 2014 The tournament commenced on Wednesday night with Chicago members getting the tournament going with some great matches among the locals. The Tennis and Racquet Club of Boston hosted the first annual Sears Cup Tournament in honor of Richard Dudley “Dick” Sears (October 16, 1861 – April 8, 1943). Sears started his career in “Lawn Tennis.” There he was undefeated in the U.S. Championships. He won the first of his seven consecutive titles in 1881 while still a student at Harvard. In those days, the previous year’s winner had an automatic bye into the final. * Court Tennis Charleston News – Website Launched

Court Tennis Charleston is going beautifully. The fundraising campaign is now at $670,000 and increasing daily. The exciting news is about one hundred percent: 100% of the USCTA board and 100% of the Preservation Foundation board have pledged to CTC, and just this week we were thrilled and honored to learn that 100% of the professionals in the U.S. have pledged. * International Tennis Day

The inaugural International Tennis Day  was a huge success. The annual date is 20 June, the anniversary of the Tennis Court Oath at the start of the French Revolution. Modeled after World Squash Day, the first ITD came off wonderfully. All four playing nations participated and photographs and reports went up onto the ITD page at Facebook, a seamless way for everyone to follow each other’s activities in real time.
