A glorious late-spring weekend brought a fascinating and welcomed visit to the historic halls of the Georgian Court Casino as Bardyl Tirana, a close friend of Kingdon Gould, Jr., the nephew of Jay Gould, joined our ranks to compete for the coveted 2010 Jay Gould Cup. With well wishes to all, Bardyl relayed that Kingdon is thrilled that the court is in fine condition, and the game his uncle championed so many years ago continues to develop at his family’s ancestral home. Fahey wins World Championship!

Fahey retains title The score line was 7/2 and the set scores 6-4, 6-2, 2-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-5, 3-6, 6-2 , 6-1 Fahey, a native of Hobart, has been the World Champion since 1994, which makes him one of Australia’s most successful sportsmen. He has won 40 national titles – Australian, UK, French, USA Opens. Rob will be at the National Tennis Club and the end of the month playing for the US Professional Singles

~US Pro- Schochet Cup Info

The US Pro Singles – Schochet Cup 2010 April 20th, 2010 Dear Professional: The 2010 US Pro Singles – Schochet Cup is fast approaching.  The tournament is scheduled for May 30th – June 6th with a purse no less than $30,000! Entries The format for the Schochet Cup has changed this year. The top eight players will be placed into the main draw, leaving eight spots available for qualifying. ~Bathurst Cup – Postponed

Gentlemen:  After consultation with the various Bathurst Committee heads, it has been determined that, in light of the ongoing transportation disruptions resulting in the inability of many of the participants to secure flights to the US, the Bathurst Cup will be postponed until approximately 11 months from now.  We on the Bathurst Cup Management Committee are very sorry for this inconvenience, but I know all parties understand the unfortunate circumstances that have arisen. Aiken hosted the annual Knox Doubles tournament over the weekend of April 16th. Rakish Jasani and Ben Cook defeated Dan Villiers and Ryan Carey in the final – 6/2,6/1

~Lord Percival Cup

Over the weekend of March 12th through 14th, 6 teams battled for the Lord Percival Cup. The Lord Percival Cup, which is a Whitney Cup style team doubles format, brought teams from Boston, New York, Newport/Tuxedo, and three teams from the host club, Philadelphia. The tournament is held in conjunction with the Irish Invitational squash tournament. Great times were had by all during Friday’s Irish Invitational Dinner/Dance.
