* National League Final

National League Final – May 4, 2011  In a reversal of last Friday’s regular season match, Philadelphia defeated Tuxedo in the National League Final last night. Rob Whitehouse def. Tony Hollins 6/2,6/1 Steve Virgona def. Tim Chisholm 6/4,6/5  Having captured 1st place in the regular season, Philadelphia hosted last night’s match. Don’t forget the next opportunity to see the pros play, is coming up…the US Professional Singles playing for the Schochet Cup. The tournament will be played in Newport May 29-June 5. * Anne Boleyn UPDATED Report!

The 2011 Anne Boleyn Handicap Singles tournament was played in Newport on April 29-May 1. This year we used a new format to allow more matches in order to maximize the playing experience. As this is a handicap event, players of all levels can enter and have a chance to win. Allowing for more matches gives new players the opportunity to gain match experience, while at the same time testing the skills of the more experienced players. * Knox Results – Final Update!

The Knox Handicap Doubles Report 2011 We increased the maximum allowable handicaps for players to 35 from 30 this year. This certainly helped us attract a field of sixteen teams to compete in our traditional four pools of four round robin format. Adding a new twist this year,  the top two teams from each pool moved on to the quarter final round on Saturday night. Winners of one pool  played the second place finishers from a different pool. * Virgona Scores a Double at the 2011 US Open

Steve Virgona and Rob Fahey won the 2011 US Open Doubles 6/1,6/2,6/1 over Tim Chisholm and Camden Riviere. Steve Virgona won the 2011 US Open, defeating Camden Riviere 6/4,6/2,6/3.
