The 2012 World Championship (WC) will be held at Queen’s Club in London on April 24-28, 2012. For information on tickets, click here. As of December 8, there were four players vying for the opportunity to challenge World Champion Rob Fahey, for the title. Those players in order of ranking points were: 1. Steve Virgona 2. Camden Riviere 3. Bryn Sayers 4. Ben Matthews The format calls for 1 to play 4 and 2 to play 3 in a series of 3, 5 set matches. Final National League Match of the “Regular Season” -Tuxedo defeats Newport Tony Hollins defeated Jake Worseldine 6/1, 6/1 Tim Chisholm defeated Rich Smith 6/5, 6/4 Smith/Worseldine defeated Chisholm/Hollins 8/5 Tuxedo wins 6/1 and clinches the #3 Spot. They will play New York in the semifinal round in New York sometime during the week of January 2. The winner will go on to play Philadelphia. The final round will be played in Philadelphia the week of January 12th.
A couple of years spent nurturing our relationship with the university has finally paid off, and this summer we gained access to, and made significant progress with several key decision-makers within the Georgian Court University community, including a fruitful alignment with the athletic director, the director of intramural sports, the chairperson of physical education department, the soccer coach and the tennis coach. The fourteenth annual dinner of the United States Court Tennis Association was held on Friday 9 December 2012 at the Racquet & Tennis Club. By most metrics the event, organized by Brian Owens, was the most successful dinner yet. One hundred and seventy-five people from around the world attended—many were in town to play in or watch the Whitney Cup and others came to support the Association and be a part of its yearly reunion.
