* Newport Handicap Doubles Results
Once again the Newport Handicap Doubles drew players from around the country and around the world to the National Tennis Club to compete in four divisions. In the B, C & D divisions eight teams per division played in a round robin format with the top two team of each four team group going through to a single elimination semi-final round, with the first place team in each group of four facing off against the second place team in the other group. * AB Martin Cup
The inaugural AB Martin Cup was held in Tuxedo. The tournament is a team doubles competition, similar to the Whitney Cup, for seniors. Team New England beat New York 2/1. Members of the winning New England team included Alex Walsh, Jonathan Pardee, David Boenning, Tom Rowe, Dick Brickley and Nicholas Stogdon. Results Walsh/Pardee (NE) def. * US Parent Child Results
The US Parent Child Doubles was played in Tuxedo on June 16 & 17. Christian & Nick Sonne beat Howard & Gordon McMorris in the finals of the Open Division. David & David Ford defeated Bob & Cameron Buettner in the finals of the handicap division. The draws are attached.
* US 70’s Results
The US 70’s Singles were played in New York. In the final, Michael Flinn defeated John McLean 6/3,6/4.
