What a great weekend the Racquet Club of Philadelphia had hosting the 2012 Ladies Invitational! We had women from Washington, Philadelphia, and Aiken S.C.
The singles final consisted of a high level of woman`s tennis. Ginny Goodyear from Aiken played Philly`s own Melissa Purcell in a very good match and a very close first set. Although Melissa knows the court and has every type of weapon, Ginny was just a little too quick and served just a little bit tougher than Melissa.

In the doubles we had Philly`s own Kathy Carson and Melissa Purcell -vs. – Aiken`s, Ginny Goodyear, and Philly`s own Alex Escher. Goodyear and Escher surprised Melissa and Kathy by taking the first set 6/3! However, Melissa and Kathy were just a little too tough, and fought back to win the next two sets to win the Ladies invitational doubles title.
